BaföG funding

The Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG) enables young people and young adults to pursue an education that matches their abilities and interests – even if their families/parents are not able to fully finance their studies.

Please note:

In the case of a leave of absence due to child-rearing, alternative financial support through citizen’s allowance (Bürgergeld) may be available. A key requirement is that no academic credits or performance records may be earned during the leave period for child-rearing. It is strongly recommended to seek individual advice from the Family Service.
