For FAU employees:
The childcare places listed here are regular childcare places for children of University employees. A total of 158 childcare places are available to employees in childcare facilities run by the University or by the University’s cooperation partners.
Some of these places are reserved by the F³G consortium of collaborative research centers for the children of staff involved in various projects funded by the DFG.
The places are for full-day childcare, but they can be converted into half-day places upon request.
As childcare places are still very rare in the ER/N/FÜ region, it is important that you register at least one year in advance!
Age group…
… as a rule 12 months to 6 years.
Allocation of places: on the basis of registration and waiting lists.
- In Erlangen, you should register via the Kitafinder run by the City of Erlangen.
- In Nuremberg, you should register via the Kita-Portal Nürnberg.
- In Fürth, you should register via the Kita-Anmeldeportal run by the city of Fürth.
Costs
- Determined individually by the childcare facilities.
- If necessary, the youth welfare office (Jugendamt) may cover the cost of childcare.
Please refer to the information given by the various childcare facilities when registering via the central registration platforms in Erlangen and Nuremberg. When registering, be sure to state that you are a member of FAU and/or F³G. That is necessary to ensure that the heads of the daycare facilities can allocate you a place directly.
