Nürnberger Summer holidays (Sommerferien)

Dear families,

we offer childcare in Nuremberg for school children in the Summer holidays (Sommerferien) 2026 from August 03 to August 28.
This page gives you all the information you need to know about FAU holiday childcare during the Summer holidays. Implementation is safe even with small groups!

Who can attend?

Holiday childcare for kindergarten children between the ages of 3 and 6 and
for school children between the ages of 6 and 12.

When?

In Nürnerg we offer mixed-age care from August 03 to August 28.

What’s on offer?

A leis-time-oriented holiday programme is carried out in the holiday groups.

Lunch between 12:00 and 13:45 in the canteen

Where?

Expectet Student House Insel-Schütt, Andreij-Sacharow-Platz 1, in 90403 Nuremberg
There are signs showing the way to the care facilities from the main entrance of the buildings with parking space.

Would you like to register?

Please use our online service to register!
The registration period: Approximately 5 weeks before the start of the vacation; the exact date will be announced later.

You can only register using your work e-mail address (e.g. maria.mustermann@fau.de). Please ensure that you receive our mails during the holiday season!

Please also note the documents registration for FAU holiday care and bring them completed on the first day of care of your child/children to the holiday.

Opening hours/costs

The FAU holiday childcare is available during the holidays on working days from 07:00am to 4:30pm.
If you need assistance between 7 and 8 a.m., please indicate this in the registration portal under “Notes”.

You can register your child by the week either
for full-day care for 80 €/week (for childcare between 7:00am and 4:30pm every day) or
for half-day care for 60 €/week (for childcare between 7:00am and 2pm every day).
For 17,50 €/week, you can book a warm lunch for your child.

Prizes vary for users from partner institutions.

Cancellation

Please let us know as soon as possible if your child is unable to attend the childcare you have booked.
If your child is ill at the time the childcare starts, we will reimburse you your fees if you show us a doctor’s certificate.

Cancellation for any other reason: Fees are reimbursed in full for any cancellation up to 7 days before the holidays start.
After that, the fees will only be reimbursed if we can find someone to take your place.
