Erlanger Summer holidays (Sommerferien) 2024

Dear families,

we are planning to offer childcare in Erlangen for kindergarten and school children in the Summer holidays (Sommerferien) 2024 from July 29 to September 6. This page gives you all the information you need to know about FAU holiday childcare during the Summer holidays.

Who can attend?

Holiday childcare for kindergarten children between the ages of 3 and 6,
for school children between the ages of 6 and 12 and
for teenagers between the ages of 11 and 14.

When?

We offer different childcare periods for the various age groups:

Kindergarten children: July 29 to August 30
School children: July 29 to September 6
Teenagers: August 5 to August 30

What’s on offer?

The groups offer a varied program with a range of free-time activities:

Weekly program for primary school children
Weekly program for kindergarten children

Summer holidays in Erlangen 2024 youth group

During the holiday period, we offer all (including prospective) school children the opportunity to participate in the school children’s holiday childcare programme.

Where?

* Care of youth and primary school groups at the FAU Sports Center (SPOZ), Gebbertstraße 123b, in 91058 Erlangen
* Care of the kindergarten groups at the Städtische Wirtschaftsschule Erlangen (W.i.R.), Artilleriestraße 25, in 91052 Erlangen

There are signs showing the way to the care facilities from the main entrance of the buildings with parking space.

Registration period: Monday, June 10 to Friday, June 21
You can only register using your work e-mail address (e.g. maria.mustermann@fau.de).

Please also note that you require the documents to register for FAU holiday childcare. Please be sure to fill them out and bring them with you on the first day that your child attends the holiday childcare.

Opening hours/costs

Please note our new opening hours! During the summer holidays childcare is open daily from 07:00-16:30 on weekdays. You can register your child by the week either for full-day care for 60 €/week (for childcare between 7:00am and 4:30pm every day) or for half-day care for 40 €/week (for childcare between 7:00am and 2pm every day). For 15€/week, you can book a warm lunch for your child.

Please organize your child’s breakfast, snacks and drinks yourself and pack them safely in a small backback. On longer excursion days, we ask you to give your child an additional snack, as we do not go to the cafeteria on these days.

Prizes vary for users from partner institutions.

Reduced rates?

A reduced rate must be applied for in advance from the person responsible for organizing the childcare at the Family Service (pädagogische Leitung) and is possible in the following cases: Families with three children who are all looked after in the University childcare during the same week(s) do not have to pay the childcare costs for the third child (but lunch fees still apply).

If both parents are students, they can apply for a reduction in childcare costs of 10 € per week by showing their certificates of enrollment.

Please contact us if you would like to apply for a reduced rate.

Cancellation

Please let us know as soon as possible if your child is unable to attend the childcare you have booked.

If your child is ill at the time the childcare starts, we will reimburse you your fees if you show us a doctor’s certificate.

Cancellation for any other reason: Fees are reimbursed in full for any cancellation up to 7 days before the holidays start. After that, the fees will only be reimbursed if we can find someone to take your place.
