Erlanger Summer holidays (Sommerferien)

Dear families,

during the Summer holidays (Sommerferien) 2026 from August 03 to September 11 we offer childcare in Erlangen.
This page gives you all the information you need to know about FAU holiday childcare.

Who can attend?

Holiday childcare for kindergarten children between the ages of 3 and 6,
for school children between the ages of 6 and 12 and
for teenagers between the ages of 11 and 14.

When?

We offer different childcare periods for the various age groups:

Kindergarten children: August 10 to September 04
School children: August 03 to September 11
Teenagers: August 03 to August 28

What’s on offer?

The groups offer a varied program with a range of free-time activities:

During the holiday period, we offer all (including prospective) school children the opportunity to participate in the school children’s holiday childcare programme.

Where?

The locations are available when registering online.

There are signs showing the way to the care facilities from the main entrance of the buildings with parking space.

Would you like to register?

Please use our online service to register!
Registration period: Approximately 5 weeks before the start of the vacation; the exact date will be announced later.
You can only register using your work e-mail address (e.g. maria.mustermann@fau.de). Please ensure that you receive our mails during the holiday season!

In addition, please see the documents for registration for FAU Holiday Childcare. Please be sure to fill them out and bring them with you on the first day that your child attends the holiday childcare.

Opening hours/costs

During the summer holidays childcare is open daily from 07:00-16:30 on weekdays. If you need assistance between 7 and 8 a.m., please indicate this in the registration portal under “Notes”.
You can register your child by the week either
for full-day care for 80 €/week (for childcare between 7:00 am and 4:30 pm every day)
or for half-day care for 60 €/week (for childcare between 7:00 am and 2 pm every day).
For 17,50€/week, you can book a warm lunch for your child.

Please organize your child’s breakfast, snacks and drinks yourself and pack them safely in a small backback. On longer excursion days, we ask you to give your child an additional snack, as we do not go to the cafeteria on these days.

Prizes vary for users from partner institutions.

Cancellation

Please let us know as soon as possible if your child is unable to attend the childcare you have booked. If your child is ill at the time the childcare starts, we will reimburse you your fees if you show us a doctor’s certificate.

Cancellation for any other reason: Fees are reimbursed in full for any cancellation up to 7 days before the holidays start. After that, the fees will only be reimbursed if we can find someone to take your place.
