Dual Career Service – One family, two careers

With the aim of achieving competitive and future-oriented structural gender equality, the University provides individual and comprehensive support to dual-career Couples through the Dual Career Service at the Chancellor’s Office and through its membership in the Dual Career Network Northern Bavaria (DCNN).

As part of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg’s family-friendly human resources policy, taking the careers of partners into account is an important factor in recruiting highly qualified researchers. During appointment negotiations, the concerns of dual-career couples are considered, and dual-career issues can be discussed with the Chancellor. For many couples, the decision to accept a position also depends on the professional opportunities available to accompanying partners in the region.
