Our emergency care programmes

We are able to offer emergency care thanks to a joint initiative between FAU and DHB Netzwerk Haushalt, Erlangen region. It does not replace standard, regular care services.

Every now and again, parents or family caregivers are faced with unexpected situations where they have to arrange care at short notice. Our emergency projects Känguru, Pinguin and Delfin all aim to provide quick, flexible assistance in caring for children or relatives to make it easier for you to juggle research, work and family commitments even under these unforeseen circumstances.

Känguru helps you if your child suddenly falls ill and work commitments mean that you cannot care for them yourself.

Pinguin provides childcare if you need additional support to allow you to attend university events scheduled in the evening or outside the regular opening hours of your nursery, kindergarten or after-school club.

Delfin is on hand to help out for a few hours or days if you need assistance looking after a relative who requires care.
