Conference childcare service
Childcare during events at the University and Universitätsklinikum Erlangen
Conference organizers can liaise with the Family Service to arrange childcare for the children of students, staff and guests from outside the University during their conferences, symposia and comparable events at FAU or Universitätsklinikum Erlangen.
The childcare program is decided on individually in consultation with the carers and tailored according to the number and age of children to be looked after. We therefore recommend informing us about the conference and the number of children to be cared for as soon as possible.
Childcare is provided by students from FAU with experience in caring for children who are known personally to the Family Service.
The conference organizer is responsible for providing rooms for childcare. We are happy to assist in finding a suitable room.
If several children require childcare, we would recommend borrowing a KidsBox (a mobile space for children to play).
The conference organizer is responsible for covering the costs for childcare during conferences. If the event is held within the context of a collaborative research center, the organizer is able to re-finance childcare costs using funds provided by the DFG to promote equal opportunities.
Please note: Our ability to organize suitable childcarers depends greatly on how much advance warning we are given and the availability of students. It is not always possible to organize someone to take care of the children.

- Contact details of the person organizing the event and the invoice recipient
- Number and ages of the children requiring childcare
- Time of childcare
- Location of childcare
- Any special wishes or requirements, also regarding childcarers
