Nürnberger Summer holidays (Sommerferien) 2022

Dear families, dear children,

during the summer holidays (Sommerferien) 2022 from 01.08.-09.09.2022 is again a holiday childcare programme for school children and children of kindergarten age in Nürnberg planned.

Please note the currently valid regulations for FAU holiday childcare programme.

For whom?

Holiday childcare programme for kindergarten children (3-6 years) and school children (6-12 years).

When?

Different care periods are offered for the age groups:
Kindergarten children: 08.08.-26.08.
School children: 01.08.-09.09.

What?

Holiday childcare groups provide a leisure-oriented holiday programme. Please note that the programme is in German only.

During the holiday periods 01.08.-05.08. and 29.08.-09.09., we offer the opportunity for all (including prospective) school children to participate in the school children’s programme.

Where?

Studentenhaus Insel-Schütt, Andreij-Sacharow-Platz 1 in 90403 Nürnberg.

From the main entrance of the buildings with parking possibility the way to the care rooms is signposted.

Registration?

Please use the online service for registration!
Registration period: Monday, 04.07. until Friday, 15.07.2022
Registration is only possible with your service email address (e.g. maria.mustermann@fau.de).

In addition, please see the documents for registration for FAU Holiday Childcare and bring it filled out on the first day of care of your child/children to the holiday childcare.

Opening hours/costs?

The FAU holiday childcare programme is open during the offered periods on weekdays daily from 07:30-16:30. Registration is possible on a weekly basis as a full-day booking 60.00 €/week (for a daily care time from 07:30 am – 16:30 pm) or as a half-day booking 40.00 €/week (for a daily care time from 07:30 am – 14:00 pm). For 15.00 €/week there is the possibility to book a warm lunch. On longer excursion days, we ask that you provide your child with an additional lunch, as we do not go to the cafeteria on these days.

Separate costs apply for users of cooperating institutions.

Reduction?

The application for a reduction of the childcare costs must be made in person with the responsible pedagogical management in advance of the holiday childcare programme and is possible in the following cases:

Families with three children who are cared for during the same week(s) in the holiday childcare programme will receive a waiver of the care costs for the third sibling (but not for lunch).

Dual-student parents may apply for a reduction in childcare costs of 10 euros per week total upon presentation of their enrollment certificates.

Withdrawal?

Within the registration period for a holiday childcare offer, you can cancel your booking at any time free of charge. If your child cannot participate in the booked childcare programme after the registration period, please inform us immediately. If your child is ill at the beginning of the event, we will refund the participation fees upon presentation of a medical certificate.

In case of cancellation for other reasons: up to 7 days before the start of the holiday, the participant fees will be refunded in full. After that, you will only be refunded the participant fees if the place can be filled again.
