Working from home
Working from home
Since 2011, FAU has offered employees the option of working from home for some of their hours. Employees have to meet certain requirements, apply and have their application approved. The applicable rules are set out in the Guidelines for Working from Home.
Working from home is covered by the employment contract. Employees complete some of their workload at home and the rest in the place of work.
The nature of working from home and the greater degree of responsibility for one’s own work it entails means that employees who work from home have to meet certain requirements. Tasks which lend themselves particularly well to working from home are tasks which can be completed independently, at one’s own responsibility and with little direct communication, which have as far as possible specific, measurable results and which can be completed outside of the place of work without disrupting the workflow.
Existing legal provisions or those stipulated in collective agreements, individual contracts or departmental agreements shall continue to apply without amendment or mutatis mutandis unless explicitly agreed otherwise.
